I don’t think children in nursery, or Class 1 or even Class 4 should spend the whole day just studying academic subjects – an endless round of maths, science, English and Nepali. So one of the first things we did was to introduce playtime – once a day the students in Class 1 – 4 put academia on hold and instead do art, dance, sing or listening to stories. I hesitated to call it ‘playtime’, but then I thought, what’s wrong with play?
