In many government schools, the teachers do not know the names of their students. It’s a sad reflection of the attitude of some government teachers towards education.
We’ve made quite an effort to repeatedly stress the importance of learning students names. So now that we’ve enrolled 66 new students, that’s 66 new names to learn.
Last month we gave all the teachers a spot test to see how they were progressing – see photos below:
And today we put up photos of all the new students and their names in the staff room, as a constant reminder. Equally importantly, it’s a good morale boost for everyone by showing how we are growing.
